Thoughts from PTC’19: Advancing the Future of High-Speed Internet with Precision OT

Just a few weeks ago, our Precision OT team traveled to Honolulu, Hawaii, for PTC’19, an annual telecommunications conference for stakeholders from across the Pacific Rim. Now, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who met with us. As we head into the rest of 2019, our team is excited to continue our conversations and identify how we can support your needs.

With this year’s theme being “From Pipes to Platforms,” the event functioned as an excellent barometer of where the industry is heading throughout the rest of 2019 and into the years to come. One thing was clear – the telecommunications industry has a growing need for optical networks that can support higher capacities and speeds than ever before.

At the event, Dan Sobel, Senior Account Director here at Precision OT, sat down with Jaymie Scotto Cutaia of JSA TV to talk about how we are fulfilling a key role in supporting next-generation optical networks. In the interview he talks about:

  • Winning the #2 spot on the Rochester Chamber of Commerce’s Top 100 list of the fastest-growing businesses in the region
  • The growing interest in higher data rate optics to support network speeds of 200G and 400G
  • How Precision OT is addressing this trend through advancements in optical transceivers and SDN monitoring/analytics

PTC ’19: Precision OT’s Outlook on Optical Networking Trends and Challenges

As Dan mentioned, the world’s almost insatiable appetite for streaming media and the surging popularity of Internet of Things (IoT) devices is causing network carriers and service providers to look past the 100G standard to 200G and even 400G. Having already cemented our reputation for providing high-quality, NEM-compatible coherent optics for the current generation of networks, we’re excited to soon provide the equipment needed to bring the next generation of optical networks to fruition.  Stay tuned for upcoming announcements.

At Precision OT, we believe in our people and our products, as Dan points out. Our experts know the pain points of the telecommunications industry and are committed to delivering the best solutions. We take a true hands-on approach to identifying challenges, resolving issues, maintaining reliability and providing high-levels of customer service. As we grow, we are also excited to offer our customers an even wider selection of equipment – we just added fiber jumpers and click-cleaners to our inventory!
