Precision OT Earns No. 2 Spot on 2018 Rochester Chamber Top 100

Rochester, NY – November 8, 2018– Precision Optical Transceivers (Precision OT), a leading provider of optical transceivers and related active/passive optical components, has landed the No. 2 spot on the 32ndannual Rochester Chamber Top 100 list of the fastest-growing privately owned businesses in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region. Optical transceivers, which send and receive data over fiber optic cable, are key components in building the telecommunications networks that support the internet. At a time of exponential global growth for the internet, Precision OT has experienced a 600 percent jump in revenue over the past three years.

The Rochester Chamber Top 100 is a Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce and KPMG LLP program that ranks businesses based upon both dollar and percentage growth. More than 200 companies applied to be included on this year’s Rochester Chamber Top 100 list. Businesses must have earned at least $1 million in revenue each year for the three most recent fiscal years to be eligible.

“Thanks to Precision OT’s incredible team, we have built one of the world’s fastest growing optical equipment suppliers,” said Todd Davis, CEO of Precision OT. “We’re honored to be recognized as No. 2 on the 2018 Rochester Chamber Top 100, and we’re proud to continue supporting the Rochester community by employing local talent, partnering with local organizations and boosting the local economy. We want to give back to our hometown, which has been integral to our success.”

Todd Davis is a Greece, NY native and former Harris Corporation engineer. Precision OT has about 50 employees, many of whom are graduates of The College at Brockport or Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Precision OT partners with those two institutions and several other Rochester-based educational organizations and businesses. Precision OT’s headquarters is located at Eastman Business Park.

“This year’s Rochester Chamber Top 100 list shows the fabulous success and amazing diversity that exists in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region’s economic engine,” said Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Bob Duffy. “Service companies appeared most on the list, followed by construction, technology, manufacturing, and financial. The one hundred companies combined for more than $12.1 billion in total revenue and employed nearly 23,000 people in the Rochester area. Rochester Chamber congratulates the Top 100 businesses and wishes them continued success and growth.”
