Des chercheurs de l&#039;University College de Londres ont r\u00e9cemment atteint un taux de transfert de donn\u00e9es de 1,125 t\u00e9rabits par seconde sur un c\u00e2ble optique entre un seul \u00e9metteur et r\u00e9cepteur. Des technologies telles que les amplificateurs optiques et le WDM (multiplexage par r\u00e9partition en longueur d&#039;onde) ont \u00e9limin\u00e9 le besoin de commutation par satellite et ont permis aux centres de donn\u00e9es de prendre en charge les r\u00e9seaux sociaux et de puissants moteurs de recherche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les communications optiques, d\u00e9sormais un \u00e9l\u00e9ment essentiel de la croissance soci\u00e9tale et \u00e9conomique, continueront de jouer un r\u00f4le essentiel dans le d\u00e9veloppement des nouvelles technologies et de notre mode de vie.
